Evey was really into driving. I wanted to put quarters in so she'd really be driving, but she would have lost her mind when she inevitably (and quickly) crashed. The demo was safer.
What child isn't drawn to these kinds of things? I'd still climb in if my butt would fit.
On invitation from a lovely, Russian mom I met yesterday, Evey and I decided to go to Jump City this morning for the first time. Jump City is essentially two enormous rooms filled with inflated bounce houses, slides, etc. It is only about a mile from our house, so it would be walkable in the future, but we drove today.
I was told I could accompany Evey into the playscapes, to help encourage her since it was her first time. And good thing - I had to be with her just about every step of the way. It's funny to me that she can be so brave in the face of enormous, frightening playscapes above solid ground, but was so nervous on these squishy soft surfaces. Erin (our darling friend) surmised that it was the instability under her feet that caused her to be nervous. I'm sure she's right.
In any event, our time there was short-lived and mostly spent gently bouncing; we stayed only 50 minutes or so, and the last 10 were spent in their little arcade (pictured above). She was exhausted by the end, in very much need of bath and nap. It was fun, but I think she will enjoy it far more when she's a little older and can actually jump unassisted.
