Here are a few Evey phrases/words that we wanted to share:
- "Me miss you so much!" - She says this all the time to me and K.
- "[object/person] help you make you happy 'gain." - Whenever anyone is sick or sad or lonely or if anything is looking dirty or unhappy in some fashion, she uses this to suggest a solution.
- "Mom, you beauty!" - This is a new one. She drops the -ful from beautiful. She also said this about herself tonight when she tried on a new-to-us coat. ("me beauty").
- "Egg, you okay?" - Every single time I peel an egg for this girl, she asks the egg if it's okay. Every time. And let me be clear: the girl is eating like 4-6 eggs per day.
- "Me jerk {scared} strange man. Strange man in my bed. Strange man play hide seek." - She's been talking about a strange man since we read a book with on in it last week. It's been a frequent topic. Being scared has also been common lately, though the use of the word "jerk" when she means "scared" sometimes throws me off still.
- Using "[person] her [object]" is her current way of showing third-person possession. For example, "Me wear Clare her coat" means "I'm wearing Clare's coat." Or "You throw puppy her ball?" means "Will you throw puppy's ball?"
- "Me not gon' want ..." - Clearly this can mean "I don't want [to]", but this finds its way into other sentences where is sort of doesn't belong. I think maybe she also uses it to mean "I can't".
- "Chocolate nem nem" - Chocolate MnM's
- "Mezoom" - museum
- "Uncle Tim, come me!" - Issuing a command to attend her.
- "paback" - backpack
- How most play conversations between toys are initiated: "Hello, you name! ... Be friend me? ... Yippee! Yahoo!"
- "Ring rosy, pocka posie, ashes, all fall down!" - She loves this game
- "1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ... ready! me come!" - Her version of "ready or not, here I come".
There's more, I'm sure, but I'll have to post more later. My brain died 10 minutes ago.
"Nana papa" - Grandma and Grampa
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorites from our recent visit is: "Tinkey Winkey ne-e-e-ds more Duck Song." This, of course, is accompanied by a flirty tilt to her head and a crooked little smile.
